Tonight’s contribution comes courtesy of Corwin, a dark dose reader with apparently musical taste that align with mine. My knowledge of the artist he contributed did not exist prior to being introduced a week ago. Nevertheless, the two or three songs I’ve managed to get my hands on have thoroughly impressed me to inquire into obtaining one of their albums, as it’s undoubtedly something I will enjoy.

Uncomfortable. That’s how I feel making this contribution. I fear it will appear egotistical and self-absorbed for me to contribute my own band. But I also know the other dark dose contributors won’t do it, for concern of my reaction to their words. Of course they shouldn’t, but I understand the dilemma. I came to the conclusion it’s ridiculous that I wouldn’t mention a new album by a band whom I’ve spent nearly a decade making dark music with, on my dark music blog. That would be absurd. Obviously (or one would hope) all the songs off our second album, “Dismantling Devotion” mean a great deal to me personally. So I’ll avoid discussing the album in the manner normally done.

Formerly known as Legend of the Sleeping River, Run With Wolves was discovered by Jesse on the late mp3.com This project came into existence by Giampaolo Caprino, but I just learned a couple months ago, that “members of Novembre” had participated. I’d be curious to know which ones!

So back to the point of this blog. Dark music. I’ve been wanting to contribute a track from Sweden’s Sonores since Avi (of It’s a Trap fame) informed me of their existence. The man is obsessed with Scandinavian music of all kinds (who isn’t?) and actually released this mp3 EP on his “It’s a Trap” label. Yes, I said “mp3 EP”. Usually when I’ve seen bands offering up entire releases for free, it’s because they suck. I assure you this is not the case with Sonores.
