Ikuinen KaamosAs I struggled to keep this site going in the recent past, today’s email from Krishna gave me enough strength to muster up a new post at midnight. Although this isn’t the most original material in the world, this song caught my attention mainly because of the clean vocals.

It certainly reminded me of The Entity whose melancholy championed the feeling back when we discovered them in like 2003ish. Add a little Opeth style riffing and some extremely Finnish death metal vocals and we have today’s post. I beg your pardon for the spelling out the recipe, but I cannot ignore these references. Postworthy, but please change the growls!

So shocked, a post! dark dose lives!

I thought this release was decent… although parts of this (such as the ending segment of this song) are literally so close to Opeth songs it’s more like a cover song.. like note for note.

Well made music, but kinda bored me quickly. I find this kind of music a bit too predictable, for some reason I felt tired of this band immediately because I’m tired of opeth. Quite mediocre, but still decent.

    guys,
    wake up!
too many months without a post!

anyways, if i dare recommend a band - you got to check out ‘Midas Fall’.
Though not similar to any bands which have been posted in the “near past’ but i guess it fits into the post-rock ambient-rock category perfectly.
I remember reading an old post on ‘The Gathering’ (souvenirs album i guess) on this site, and Gathering still remains my top band in the female fronted vocals category. ‘Midas Fall’ is definitely worth a listen. I’ve been hooked onto it from the past one week…
